SOUTH OROMOCTO LAKE

While sport fishers flock to this lake for chain pickerel, small mouth bass, and brook trout, birders also hold this place near and dear for photographing wading birds such as the great blue heron.  On the south end of the lake, you’ll find a nesting pair of bald eagles, high in a white pine. A quiet paddle toward the south end will likely also reward you with views of moose feeding in the shallows. At over 7km long and 2 km wide, this lake has plenty of room for all types or recreationalists (and moose!).
